Fiskcouncil+ is actively engaged in transforming into a proactive and advisory-oriented accounting firm. Jamie Offermans, Customer Success Manager at Bizzcontrol, met with Mike Collier, the director of Fiskcouncil+, to discover how they experience their collaboration with Bizzcontrol. Read on to be inspired by the story of Fiskcouncil+ and their journey towards transformation and success.
Why did you decide to start working with Bizzcontrol at that time?
We wanted to strengthen our office and take on the role of internal CFO to better serve our clients. Bizzcontrol offers exactly what we were looking for. We aimed to break the stereotypical image of the reactive accountant and position ourselves as a proactive partner. Thanks to Bizzcontrol, we can immediately demonstrate the impact of timely and accurate delivery to our clients.
How did the implementation of Bizzcontrol go for you?
The implementation actually went very smoothly. The Bizzcontrol team guided us fantastically and led us step by step through the process. They ensured that we could quickly get started and we still feel that support. A clear path has been mapped out, and I am convinced that we will succeed in our endeavor together.
Great to hear that the implementation went so smoothly. How are you planning to use Bizzcontrol now to offer advice to your clients?
We have transformed our office to adopt a proactive approach, focusing on high-quality advisory services. Naturally, compliance remains important, but we want to demonstrate that, as accountants, we have much more to offer. With Bizzcontrol, we can offer a hybrid model that provides both advisory and compliance services. Clients have the option to upgrade to more advisory services, but it is not mandatory. We aim to provide our clients with a complete service package, ranging from a basic package to an all-inclusive experience. Rome wasn’t built in a day! We are well aware that it will be a work in progress, but we firmly believe in the added value, and that is why we have consciously chosen this path.
And what do you see as the main asset of Bizzcontrol?
For me, the greatest asset of Bizzcontrol is that it enables us, as accountants, to speak the same language as our clients and elevate their financial literacy. We aim not to deliver standard work, but to truly establish personal connections with our clients. Bizzcontrol adds an extra dimension to our firm and enriches our profession. It improves the overall perception entrepreneurs have of accountants.
What is the biggest challenge for you and the office?
Engaging clients in the story begins with the submission of documents and the processing of figures. In the future, we wish to focus on providing advice, but we currently find ourselves investing a great deal of time and energy in (re)educating our clients to involve them in the transformation.
How do you tackle this challenge?
By outlining cases. Before & after effect, if everything is delivered on time and correctly, we can offer quality advice. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case today, but we continue to focus strongly on this because we believe it is the way to go. It doesn't have to be just a bad news show; we can provide targeted advice that saves entrepreneurs money thanks to Bizzcontrol.
That sounds like a well-considered approach, Mike. How did you handle the transition process from a reactive accountant to a proactive accountant?
It is an important aspect of our transformation. We aim to give our clients something extra, even before they ask for it. We want to encourage proactivity and improve the overall perception that entrepreneurs have of accountants. We have changed the mindset of our firm and strive to be a true partner for our clients. I hope that our story can inspire other accountancy firms. We are pleased that we took the step with Bizzcontrol and look forward to a successful future.
