VG accounting & taxation is a Ghent-based accounting firm for SMEs with 'firepower'. They believe that accounting is about proactive advice, with the aim of truly supporting their clients' businesses. In recent years, they have developed a unique approach where accounting is fully digital, which gives them the time and space to focus on the story behind the numbers. The firm, led by Franklin Van Gaver, has been collaborating with Bizzcontrol since 2021 to elevate the added value to their clients to an even higher level. We spoke with Franklin to hear about his initial experiences.
Franklin, why did you choose Bizzcontrol?
Franklin: “In recent years, we have strongly focused on digitalization. Our clients submit their documents via Yuki, and we record everything immediately. This way, we avoid peak moments at the end of each quarter, both for our clients and our staff. Furthermore, we use Silverfin to ensure quarterly tasks are conducted as efficiently as possible. This ensures we have continuous access to highly reliable data. However, we felt that we could extract more value from this data to enhance the added value for our clients. How do you use Bizzcontrol within your office?
Franklin: “As an accountant, it is important to always keep a finger on the pulse of all clients. Thanks to the central office cockpit in Bizzcontrol, we maintain an overview of all files and can monitor all essential KPIs. Since the data is updated daily, we continuously keep an eye on all the important parameters of all clients. This provides us with the necessary ‘helicopter view’ that allows us to address those files that require attention at the right time. Consider companies that may have increasing revenue but a negative cash flow, companies with declining margins, with increasing outstanding receivables, etc.”

How did you experience the implementation of Bizzcontrol?
Franklin: “With most other software packages, we had relatively much work to be fully up and running. However, with Bizzcontrol, the platform was completely ready even before the first onboarding session. The technical team had even applied our internal management mapping, ensuring that the reporting immediately aligned with our original way of working. During the onboarding, we directly identified a few dossiers through the cockpit that required additional attention.
